It only starts with a few people to make a difference, to make a change. And in the society we live in today, we are in desperate need of change. Julian Agyeman states “an alternate economic model is essential, and one founded in coproduction seems to offer most potential, being apparently already poised for emerging change.” Through projects like Community First! village, we were able to see some of what the city of Austin is doing for the homeless in regards to sustainable housing. This village is only the start of a greater movement that is sparking within Texas to end the great issue of homelessness. Lets hope that this can be the building blocks for a more bright future in sustainable housing!
